I am a Lecturer in Social and Political Philosophy at the University of Bristol, working mostly on migration, displacement, citizenship, and exile. I received my BA in Philosophy from King's College London, and my MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. After working in the UK House of Commons for a year, I returned to Oxford to study for my DPhil at the Refugee Studies Centre, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.

My research has several different strands. My DPhil focused on the political and social rights of refugees, looking particularly at the relationship between membership and legitimacy. I continue to write broadly on themes of refugeehood and inclusion. I am currently PI on a five-year ERC Starting Grant Project, LEAD, Learning from Experience and Agency in Displacement. This project aims to challenge and develop concepts in refugee and forced migration studies, drawing them into debates in the political philosophy of displacement.

I am also interested in migration studies, the history of women in political thought, and feminist philosophy/political theory. I am the co-editor of a volume on women in philosophy, The Philosopher Queens, which will be republished by Hackett in 2027. I sometimes also (slightly randomly) write about AI, theories of education, and epistemic injustice.

This website should introduce you to my work and CV. Feel free to get in touch.
